Kochi Biennale Beach Clean Up

With the Kochi Muziris Biennale launching on 12/12/12 the rush is on to tidy up the beaches around Fort Cochin – the jewel in the crown of Kerala.

Just like P&G’s campaign ‘Capital Clean Up Campaign”  for the London Olympics 2012, the Biennale Beach Clean Up, in collaboration with SMRC and Global Ocean,  will also help create ‘a shining impression‘ of Kochi.

With visitors and artists travelling in from all over the world, the founders of the Biennale, Bose Krishnamachari and  Riyas Komu, have given their support to the initiative.  In fact, artists from the Biennale will also take part and create art from the debris collected.

Volunteers are welcome to  join in and follow the clean up campaign here: facebook.com/globalocean. The date(s) will be announced shortly.

This Beach Clean Up follows on from the 3 Day Awareness Program at Oberon Mall  with Kochi shoppers declaring ‘I shall REFUSE single use plastic bottles‘ and kids enjoying an eco-arts plastic workshop for families.

So gloves on and let’s get cleaning!
